Buying Worry-Free Acne Cleansers

When you reach the age of puberty, you can’t do anything to escape from different skin problems. Having a clean and clear skin is an accomplishment. That is why most of us consider maintaining a skin regimen important.

If your skin is prone to acne, your cleansing routine is far more than important, you consider it already necessary. Dermatologist has discovered a lot of amazing breakthroughs when treating different kinds of skin problems.

With the advancement of technology, acne problems can be cured without undergoing painful surgeries. However, these might be costly. That’s why other people choose using gentle skin cleansers in treating this kind of skin problem so as to avoid irritation. By doing so, it would forbid further breakouts to come.

People thought acne is caused by unclean skin and it can be cured by massive cleansing. But acne is not a result of having poor hygiene and over scrubbing your face could even create more irritation on your skin.

Factors Causing Acne

1. Acne is sometimes a result of active sebaceous glands. This type of gland is connected to a hair follicle that produces sebum, it is a kind of oily substance in which if it is trapped in a hair follicle will produce blemishes.

2. Abnormal multiplication of natural occurring bacteria will clog the hair follicles and will cause acne.

3. Shedding of dead skin too quickly will cause harsh irritation and may result as well to acne. In the same way, a release of contaminated provocative substances through your skin will also cause acne.

There are many anti-acne products being manufactured nowadays. Each of which claims that they give 100% satisfaction on getting rid your acne problems. The only problem is which of these products would give the best result leaving your skin more radiant and fairer. That’s why it’s necessary to take into considerations the following guidelines before buying an acne cleanser.

1. Identify what type of skin you have. Having an oily skin, you should prefer using a gel-based type of product and having a dry skin, you should prefer using a cream. Others have a combination of both types. In this condition, you have to know what would be appropriate to apply in the affected area. If your acne burst in the oily part of your skin, use the gel-based or the other way around.

2. Check the sensitivity of your skin. If you have a sensitive skin, you’ll need a product that has low concentration of its active ingredient. This would avoid excessive drying of the inflicted area.

3. Read the direction on how to use the product. Don’t over do things. Apply only the medication on the skin wherein it is prone to acne or there is already acne present.

Tips on How to Wash Your Face before Applying Acne Cleansers

1. When you’re searching for a facial cleanser, look for the product that say “oil free” and “non-acne irritating”. You may also try using medications that goes with a cleanser. This kind of treatment, often times, works best.

2. Don’t over wash your face. It can cause irritation. Washing your face twice a day (when you wake up and before you sleep) is at most recommended.

3. Use your hands when washing your face. Using washcloth could irritate your skin more. Scrubbing your face is not needed. Washing alone will not solve your acne problems for it didn’t come from dirt.

4. Never rub dry your face. This would also irritate your skin. Consider gentle pat drying. Always remember that the more you irritate your skin, the more breakouts would come out.

5. After doing this routine, you’re now ready to apply your prescribed medication on your face.

How The Kidney, Lungs, And Lymphatic System Keep You Acne Free

The kidney

The purpose of the two kidneys is to filter the water in your blood as the blood passes through the kidneys. About 4 gallons of water are filtered every day but only around 3 pints are pulled out as urine.

Alcohol and sugar are the most damaging to the kidney since they kill kidney cells and weaken the kidney function.

Water is the major way the body keeps toxins from accumulating in the body and skin. You need to drink plenty of clean water daily so the kidneys can remove toxins and excess nutrients, vitamins, and minerals from the blood.

When you drink plenty of water, the skin does not have to act as a filter to filter out excess waste from the blood since it is been filter and excreted, as urine, by your kidney.

Water also is needed to keep your skin moist. Water in the skin layers helps to protect the skin from bacteria and toxins that try to pass into your skin.

The more fresh juices you drink and the more fruit or vegetables you eat, the less water you need to drink. All juices contain plenty of distilled water, which contributes to your daily water requirement.

Drinking sodas and other drinks that have sugar cannot be counted as water.

The Lungs

You have two large sacs that are called your lungs. As you breathe in air, the lungs pull oxygen out of the air, which is captured by your blood, routed to your liver, moved into your heart and then moved into all parts of your body.

As you breathe out, waste and carbon dioxide are pushed out through your mouth.

Your cells use oxygen to create energy for you to live by. You need energy for every movement your body does. Oxygen is also used to neutralize toxins, waste and pathogen. The more toxins, acid waste and pathogens you have in your body, the more oxygen is used up to neutralize them. This means you will have less oxygen for cell, organ and other body functions.

If the other elimination channels are weak and overloaded, the lungs will also become overloaded trying to get rid of toxic waste the other channels cannot get rid of.

When your lungs become overloaded with toxins or become weak, more waste stays in the body, making your body more toxic, acidic and susceptible to disease and infections. If you have kidney weakness, liver weakness, lung weakness mostly likely you will have skin disorders like eczema, psoriasis, acne, and many other types of skin disorders.

Lymphatic System

The lymphatic system is part of your immune system. It consists of a series of tubes, large and small, that cover your entire body. Through these tubes flow a whitish liquid called lymph. Since this system does not have a pump, the lymph is pushed through the tubes by your body’s movement or exercise.

Lymph liquid surrounds all of your body cells and is responsible for bringing nutrients to your cells from the blood and to move away toxins that come out of the cells.

Toxins and pathogens that are in your lymph liquid are moved into lymph nodes. In the lymph nodes, this toxic matter is neutralized into harmless chemicals and then moved into the blood and are eliminated through the other channels of elimination.

The lymph liquid is composed of electrolyte minerals such as sodium, potassium, calcium phosphorus, and chloride. So strong lymph liquid is built when you eat fruits and vegetables.

When the lymph nodes become overwhelmed with toxic waste from the cells and the blood, they become inflamed and cannot keep the body free of toxic matter.

Excess toxic waste accumulates in the lymph liquid when your body does not have enough electrolyte minerals to neutralize this toxic acid waste. Now, your body is a considered acid and will have a difficult time fighting infections wherever they occur, including your face.

When you lymph system becomes weaken, it is unable to detoxify toxins and routes them into the blood where the liver is expected to clean the blood.

Keeping you lymph system strong is important for keeping your skin free of blemishes, skin disorders, eczema and acne.

Your Acne Attitude

Acne dragging you down? Your acne problem is more than just an acne problem. To some extent, you make it what it is by the way you react to it. In other words, no two people have the same experience with acne, even if they have the same symptoms, because responses to the acne problem differ from person to person. And then again, the way you respond has a lot to do with your total experience with acne.

Buck up! It is only acne! For example, if you have a flippant, do not care attitude to your acne problem, chances are that you will not let it get you down. On the other hand, if you really allow your acne to upset you, you are likely to feel much worse about the problem, and may also build up stress. This in turn could prevent you from dealing effectively with your acne.

Be well informed about your acne. There are a number of factors that can affect your attitudes towards your acne problem. The most dangerous of these is the possibility that you may be misinformed about the nature of acne as a condition, and that you may believe facts that are simply not true. As a result, you may be ready to accept that acne is caused by eating fatty food or by dirt and grime.

Dissected further, it would be truer to say that keeping the skin clean would be good for general health and for the health of the skin itself. Acne would be less likely to develop when the skin is healthy.

Check out the facts about your acne. Go a step further and you may find yourself believing that scrubbing will get rid of your acne. This would in fact be disastrous, because skin that has been affected by acne is extremely sensitive and needs to be carefully handled. Scrubbing would actually make matters much worse by torturing the skin. It would also disturb any eruptions of acne, which could burst and spread the infection that was earlier contained within a cyst or lesion.

As far as greasy food is concerned, the fact is that food, greasy or otherwise, has nothing to do with acne. However, grease on the skin can clog pores and attract dirt, causing the pores to get infected. These conditions could ultimately result in the development of acne.

Media menace promise instant cures for acne. In the same way, there are various social attitudes that filter through. Advertisements play a major part in publicizing the attraction of having a perfect skin, citing cases of movie stars etc. Such gimmicks can play on our insecurities and have us believe that perhaps the advertisements are right.

Acne and peer pressure. Children in high school are particularly vulnerable to the information or misinformation they receive on the subject of acne. Because they are at an age when they are conscious of their appearance, they are ready to give in to peer pressure and go along with whatever they hear. The trouble is that what they are being told can sometimes do more harm than good.

Acne is upsetting - offer support as parents. It is therefore important for parents to offer the wisdom of their experience and put their children on the right track before they do something bizarre in the quest for a perfect skin. Parents should be aware of how acne develops, so that they can pass on this knowledge to their children and prevent them from going to extremes.

They may also be able to help their children realize that their acne is normal and should be treated as such, and that the development of acne is no tragedy. Adolescents and young adults could face their acne with confidence and the knowledge that in time, it would pass off, as long as they handled it right.

Prevention Is Time-Tested Prescription For Acne

The American Academy of Dermatology has revealed that taking pains to have a clear, blemish-free complexion should no longer be considered vanity. Rather, people should see it as a preventive measure for the most common skin disorder affecting some 20 million people worldwide---- acne.

Acne vulgaris is predominantly a genetic disease that involves the skin’s sebaceous (the oil-producing) glands. It is characterized by both non-inflammatory lesions (blackheads and whiteheads) and inflammatory lesions (papules, pustules and nodules). It usually appears on the face but it also occurs on the neck, upper arms, back and legs. Acne generally begins at puberty and may continue throughout one’s adult life due to higher levels of sebum or oil that is produced by the body as one matures.

Those who have oily skin are more prone to pimple or acne which is why proper care must be exercised. Acne, when mishandled or mistreated, will develop to more serious problems like embarrassing scars that are oftentimes difficult to treat.

But pimples or acne can be prevented. All it takes is a professionally-prescribed or traditionally-approved beauty regimen that is religiously followed.

Caring for the skin

Acne can be controlled by developing a good skin regimen. Washing the face with clean warm water and mild soap or facial wash will cleanse the skin, but dermatologists usually recommend products that are “non-comedogenic” as these do not clog the pores that may cause irritation to the skin.

For dry skin, apply a moisturizer to retain the skin’s moisture. This will also ensure a smoother feel and easier glide when applying make-up.

Eat a hefty amount of Vitamin A and E-rich foods. These vitamin food groups are the skin’s best friend. Drink lots of water, too.

Lead a healthy lifestyle. Give your skin the chance to rest especially at night when cell renewal is at its highest level.

Get professional advice

Avoid self-medication when dealing with skin problems. Consult a dermatologist and follow their advice. Remember that a dermatologist has less of a vested reason to guide your skin care program unlike the woman working behind a cosmetics counter.

Caring for the skin is a must since when the skin is given little attention, it shows.

Nothing Mythical About Having Acne - Acne Myths Debunked

There are many acne myths around today. Although many of these myths have been proved wrong by scientists and dermatologists, many people still believe in these myths.

So today I’m going to debunk some of these acne myths once and for all.

Let’s start with washing. Having acne isn’t down to not washing on a daily basis (twice a day). Washing your face too much will only make your condition much worse than it already is. This is because to much washing will agitate your skin.

Second – Has anyone ever told you that chocolate will give you acne? Well they were wrong. Eating too much of “bad” foods such as chocolate or greasy foods will not make your acne worse. But if you eat this sort of food regularly, you will have poor nutrition. And this will lead to a worsening of your acne.

Just remember that these foods are life’s little luxuries. There is no harm in eating a little bit of chocolate or greasy foods now and again, but you shouldn’t live on them, okay?

Third – Stress. Please do not let stress take the blame for why you have acne. Although some people think stress is causing their acne, this isn’t true. Teenage acne is thought to be caused primarily due to hormones. But some forms of adult acne can be stress related.

Fourth – Tanning or exposure to sun will help reduce acne to some degree, but after a certain point it will makes your condition worse. It is more of a cover up than a cure. There’s no harm in catching a little sunshine, but it isn’t a cure… and in the long run, it will do more harm than good.

I hope this article has been able to dispel a few of the most common myths about what causes acne.

Acne: An Adult Dilemma as Well

Acne is often regarded as a major teenager's problem. Although there are several adults who also suffers from what we call “adult acne”. Adults in their twenties and beyond can still experience acne, and the negative effects of stress adds to the strain of having it pop up in their face.

Studies show that mental stress can be a major cause in developing acne for adults. Moreover, women are likely to suffer from it because they are more exposed to stress which they acquire throughout their daily lifestyle. They are also prone to hormonal imbalances, especially at times when they have their monthly menstruation and during pregnancy.

The environment is another factor in developing adult acne. If your surroundings are always dirty, most likely all the dust will be carried through the wind and eventually land on your face. If left unwashed, these dust and dirt can clog up your pores and infect them making the pore inflamed.

Just like teen acne, the best treatment that you can avail of is maintaining proper skin care and a healthy personal hygiene. Take a bath everyday, and use mild soap only so that your acne wont further develop into an infection.

Also watch out for your diet. Drink enough water and exclude from your meal some oily foods. Eat more fruits and vegetables.

Take enough sleep and rest. It will relax your skin pores and eventually prevent acne from developing.

The lifestyle of an adult is an important factor in the appearance of adult acne as well. Avoid drinking liquor, alcohol-based beverages and smoking. It will just make your face riddled with acne.

You can also take some acne medications like skin care products and skin treatments. Just see your dermatologist so that he/she can determine which treatment would be right for you.

5 Simple Tips To Prevent Acne Breakouts

Acne can be an embarrassing affliction and often times you have a breakout at the worst possible moment like when you are going out on a date or have an important meeting to attend. While there is no known cure for acne there are some simple strategies that you can do to help prevent acne breakouts.

1. Use a gentle face cleanser. No a cleanser is not soap. Soap can dry and irritate the skin which can lead to breakouts which you hardly want. Gentle is the keyword here so use a gentle cleanser twice daily without scrubbing or hard rubbing. A good cleaning routine can help keep your pores clear and clean. If you think that cleaning your face more often will mean it will be cleaner your wrong. Cleaning your face too often can cause more irritation and breakouts so be patient if you are currently facing a breakout as more cleaning won't clear your skin quicker. When washing your face it is a good idea to use warm water to rinse.

2. You have probably heard this a million times before from your parents but don't pop, pinch or squeeze your pimples. While you want to get rid of the visible signs of your acne as quickly as possible popping them or squeezing them isn't going to do you or your skin any long term good. Not only can it lead to scarring which can be just as worse as having breakouts but it can also irritate your skin leading to further breakouts and the cycle begins again. If you have the urge to pick or squeeze your pimples the simple answer is don't.

3. Use medication. If you are suffering from regular acne breakouts and the regular acne treatments you find at the local drug store not helping then you will want to consider seeking medical advice. Doctors will be able to assess your acne condition and prescribe suitable acne medication ranging from topical solutions to anti-bacterial drugs. Doctors can also refer you to a dermatologist which can work with you to prevent acne breakouts.

4. Use sun protection at all times. With the use of medication to help control your acne you are going to be susceptible to the sun and be more sensitive then usual. You will want to always put on a good quality sunscreen before leaving home and to reapply during the day to help protect your skin. When picking a sunscreen look for ones that are oil free for sensitive skins. Wear a hat whenever possible to help shield your face from direct sun exposure and avoid being in the sun for extended periods like at the beach or sitting in the park. There are myths that suggest sun exposure can help reduce your acne breakouts, as far as medical evidence goes there is no supporting study to suggest that sun exposure has any links to the reduction of acne and at worse may even lead to increasing your likelihood of skin cancer so don't risk it.

5. Exercise regularly. You should be trying to exercise regularly each week anyway for overall health and vitality but exercise can also assist with reducing your acne breakouts. Exercise has long been known to help reduce stress and anxiety and this will help reduce acne as one of the causes can often be due to heightened stress levels. Exercising also serves to help cleanse your pores through sweating but you need ensure that you wipe of excess sweat and try to have a shower after strenuous exercise.

5 Easy Tips for Treating Acne

If you have even a passing interest in the topic of acne, then you should take a look at the following information. This enlightening article presents some of the latest news on the subject of acne.

You may not consider everything you just read to be crucial information about acne. But don't be surprised if you find yourself recalling and using this very information in the next few days.

1. Avoid Scrubbing and Abrasives

Scrubbing and abrasives should be avoided. Experts have said that they irritate the skin, which should be left intact as a natural barrier against the acne-causing bacteria.

2. Sun for Beautiful Skin

As you may know, sun does kill bacteria, but it doesn't mean that it won't harm the skin. Note that the sun also acts as an astringent that dries, tightens and clogs the skin pores. Thus, you should just spend limited time under the sun. At least 15 minutes to the face and arms daily is enough.

3. Avoid Extremely Cold Weather

If extreme heat causes clogging of the pores, extremely cold weather causes it as well. So, avoid extremely cold weather so you don't freeze and clog pores. It is ideal that you moisturize your face and body, and stay in temperatures ranging from 70 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

4. Swimming Does Help

Exercise for stress reduction by swimming in a properly treated indoor swimming pool. But, use the Ozone purified pool if possible. It is interesting to know that the swimming pool water is typically 75 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit, which is well below the normal temperature of 98.6 degrees of your body. Therefore, the swimming water cools your whole body, including the acne affected areas, while providing excellent exercise to the rest of you. This even reduces stress as well as physical attention.

5. Think Clean

Change linens, wash cloths and body towels after each use. It is for the fact that they are great places for acne-causing bacteria to grow and be reapplied to the skin later. Also, wash white facial cloths, pillow covers, as well as personal undergarments daily with Vinegar, tea tree oil or essential oils of Lime, lemon or orange so to lessen the acne-related bacterial development. It is also often suggested that you apply a natural detergent for washing.

Indeed, there are a lot of ways to control and fight acne, but maintaining a healthy lifestyle is so far the best one to consider. It is important to note that healthy lifestyles will lead you to attaining a healthier skin and a healthier body. Changing your unfavorable habits will reward you with better general health, more energy, and clearer skin to show the world.

If you were once afraid to make changes, please don't be. Of course, the initial affects may be hard to grasp at first, but as you go on, you will find out that you can quickly learn to adapt with them.

Frequent washing - Frequent washing of the acne-affected area will not treat acne. On the contrary, it may adversely affect your skin. Washing twice a day should be more than enough. Your Acne Rosacea Skin Care Is Connected With Your PH Balance

It really starts from the inside. By making sure your ph balance stays in range, you can take full control of your acne rosacea skin care. The start of acne rosacea comes from the acid accumulation within the body. And if it is not eliminated probably from your body, then the acid sits there and builds up within the body. And this acid build-up is what causes sickness, disease, acne, rosacea, etc. If you start watching your ph balance in the foods you eat and drink, this can help greatly in controlling your acne rosacea.

The ph scale range is between 0 to 14. The higher the ph, the more alkaline the food and/or drink is which is very good. The lower the ph, the more concern you should have in what you are eating. Food and drink with a low ph are just not good for you. Your ph balance should always stay more on the alkaline side between 7.35 and 7.45. This is neutral and very normal. A good rule to follow is, you should eat only 20% of acid forming foods and drinks and 80% of alkaline forming foods and drinks daily. Food and drink with more alkaline is very good. The 20% and 80% is considered to be a good balance in your diet when you are watching your ph balance.

Work on neutralizing your overall acid in your body. You need to learn how to do this so you can change your diet. Lots of water is very good. Water is alkalined with a ph of 7.3. Start drinking 8 glasses of water per day. Fresh fruits and vegetables have a ph of 7.0 and higher. Any ph below 7.0 is not the best and should be eaten at low levels. Some foods and drinks below 7.0 are: beef(5.0), sugar-white(5.0), pasta(5.0), coffee(2.2,sorry I like coffee too), beer(2.0), wine(3.0), vodka(4.0), soda(2.0), etc. You get the picture.

If you decide to change your diet, you will start to see amazing positive results in your acne rosacea skin care. If you do pursue with this, then start out slowly and gradually. This way, you will be easing into this new diet.

In order to start testing the acid and the alkaline within your body, go to your pharmacy/drug store and purchase some ph paper strips. The ph paper strips will help you measure the ph within your body. The ph strips will definitely let you know if you are eating right or not.

Monitoring your ph balance and changing your diet will keep your system clean and eliminate waste more quickly from your body. The longer the waste remains there inside your body, the more acid build up and then you have sickness and all kinds of health problems that come along. You do not want this. Top Eight Tips to Get a Radiant Skin!

Young, fresh, healthy and radiant! Whether you are sixteen or sixty, this is how you want your skin to be. How do you seek to achieve your objectives? Do you propose to get the best skin care products? Or are you aiming for costly medications? Put it on hold for now. You could improve the texture of your skin through natural skin care.

Before going to free tips for skin care beauty?, learn your skin type. The type of your skin could be normal, dry, oily, sensitive or combination. Your friends may insist that people with normal skin are the ‘lucky’ ones. But, it doesn’t mean that they should absolutely ignore their skin. Remember that natural skin care methods could go a long way in improving your skin. Now, let us go through the following free skin care tips:

Tip #1: Cleanse Your Skin

Do you apply heavy makeup when leaving for work? Then, don’t forget to remove the makeup after you return from the workplace. Your exposure to wind, sun, pollutions and even air conditioning could block the pores of your skin. You don’t have to run to the beautician to clean your skin. Just dip a piece of cotton wool in the milk and wipe your skin. You could also dip the cotton wool in almond oil and clean the skin under your eyes.

Tip #2: Eat Healthy Food

Chocolate, candies, French fries and Pizzas! As delicious as they are, these food items are deemed to be the enemies of your skin. They could cause blemishes and make your skin oily. It is hard to digest the fact, but reduce the intake of these delicacies for the betterment of your skin.

Tip #3: Exercise Regularly

The tasteless water could very well help in improving your complexion. Eight glasses of water along with regular exercise could have a positive impact on your complexion. What kind of exercises? Walking, running, jogging or even engaging in sports could have the desired effect on your skin.

Tip #4: Replace Your Dead Skin Cells

Don’t ignore dead skin cells. Note that you have to exfoliate at least twice a week to replace your dead skin cells. Do you have broken capillaries? In that case, care should be taken before exfoliating.

Tip #5: Reduce Exposure to the Sun

Is it possible to escape the ill effects of hot sun? Exposure to the sun could leave your skin with blotches and premature wrinkles. Do you have to go out between 10: am and 3: pm? In that case, wear sun glasses and wide rimmed hats to prevent direct exposure to the sun.

Tip #6: Use Natural Moisturizer

Is your environment surrounded by pollutants and dust? Then, it would be better for you to use a natural moisturizer. These moisturizers can protect and hydrate your skin. How do you prepare a nourishing mask at home? Blend white cosmetic clay with mashed banana and apply on your face. Wash after a few minutes.

Tip #7: Avoid Excessive Use of Cosmetics

Excessive use of cosmetics could have an adverse effect on your skin and health. People remain unaware that most of the cosmetics contain dangerous chemicals like parabens, thus paving way for cancer. If not cancer, these chemicals could cause serious allergies. So, it is better to minimize the excessive use of cosmetics.

Tip #8: Maintain Healthy Lifestyle

Are you addicted to alcohol and cigarettes? Then, you are sure to get all kinds of skin problems. Wrinkles and blotches may find haven in your skin. Stay away from alcohol and cigarettes if you want healthy skin. Try to stay cool, so as to avoid fatigue and stress.

Taking care of your skin is hardly a difficult process. Healthy lifestyle with proactive skin care could leave the right impact on your skin. Care for your skin and it would never betray you.

Five Easy Guidelines For Acne Skin Care

Are you having acne problem? Have you done something about it? No need to worry, almost everyone has a problem with acne. Nearly all of high-school-age girls to older women, even including men, experience this skin care problem. Acne may not be a dangerous skin disease, but the common appearance, especially if it becomes worse and severe, can become a very serious problem. Thus, you’re going to need a significant acne skin care.

Before going further to acne skin care, it will be best to get to know more about acne. It is a skin disorder caused by hormones on the skin’s oil glands. This leads to open skin pores and cause some spots, annoying ones, to emerge. These spots are called acne and usually occur on the face, neck, back, and chest.

A permanent blemish and scar caused by acne should be treated seriously. Besides it may distress the people who are affected, it can also lead to a worse skin condition. Here are some easy guidelines how to treat the acne - and to give care to your skin in general:

1. The first and most important to do is gently wash your skin, especially your face, at least twice a day. Use a mild cleanser and after that, clean your skin with water. Ask your dermatologist about what kind of cleanser to be used according to your skin type.

2. Use appropriate acne products, which you can get by asking your doctor. Allow some time for the medicine to work as suggested by the doctor or as said in the instruction. You’ll see the improvement later, which usually takes several weeks.

3. Be careful when using cosmetics. You should use ones that are oil free, since oily skin is believed to be one of the factors that contribute to the emergence of acne.

4. Take vitamins for your skin. Vitamin E is the best one for a good skin. You can consume it through some fresh foods (fruits and vegetables) or simply just take vitamin E tablets available at drug stores.

5. Start a new healthy lifestyle by doing a balanced diet. Eat healthy foods, namely the low-fat and fresh ones. Don’t forget to drink a lot of water since it helps bring out toxin from the body.

You see from the above guidelines that there’s no difficulty at all in acne care, right? You just need to live clean and healthy to have a good skin. So, why not start a new lifestyle today? And buy only quality products - for a long-lasting healthy skin ever.

Acne Prevention Tips

Acne is one of the most prevalent chronic skin conditions in the world. It is an indiscriminate condition, striking millions of people from all walks of life, all over the world.

There are many causes for acne, diet, the environment, and even heredity can be a major factor. Additional studies have indicated that excess hormones in the sebaceous glands may actually be the main cause of acne.

To those who suffer from acne, its impact can be overwhelming. Acne brings with it the discomfort of having to face people on a day-to-day basis. The stress of having acne can greatly reduce the self-esteem of those who suffer from it. Skin experts realizing these problems, have developed some guidelines for acne prevention.

The number one rule is never to try squeezing, or picking the lesions that the acne causes. This is important because when you squeeze, or pick the lesion, it may cause scarring, or even the spread of acne to other locations on the face or body.

The simplest acne prevention guideline is to be sure to wash your face with mild, or sulfur soap, a minimum of twice a day. When doing so, it is important to remember not to scrub your face hard, but to use a gentle circular motion and to pat your face dry with a soft towel. Taking a little time to protect yourself with acne prevention guidelines will go a long way in helping you to control your acne.

Being sure to avoid skin products that have an oil base will also assist in preventing an outbreak of acne. If you wear make-up, make certain to purchase make up that will not clog your pores. This may cost a little more, but you will be happy with the acne prevention offered by this care.

Another acne prevention suggestion is to avoid the airborne grease most commonly found in fast food restaurants. Do you or your teenager play sports? The friction caused by the rubbing that occurs when wearing sports equipment can cause an onset of acne. It is recommended for acne prevention that you do everything you can to minimize any rubbing or friction caused by your sports equipment.

Some experts believe that a strong program of acne prevention, given time to work, may be all that is necessary to clear up mild cases of acne. While this may work, it could take months, or even up to a year to work. Generally speaking, no one wants to wait that long.

An acne prevention specialist can recommend nonprescription medications, and topical creams to help with your efforts. Most of these products will contain Benzoyl Peroxide, which works effectively as an acne prevention agent.

These types of acne prevention medications are found in just about all pharmacies, and even some grocery stores. Benzoyl Peroxide, with strong antibacterial properties, is the active ingredient in the great majority of these products, and has been proven effective for reducing or eliminating acne-causing bacteria.

Salicylic acid is another effective ingredient to look for when trying to find an acne prevention medication. This ingredient will reduce or even eliminate the shedding of skin that often accompanies an acne problem. There are many different acne prevention medications on the market today that have been developed to stop the growth of acne causing bacteria. Not all are without risk of side effects. Some are so strong that they can have serious side effects.

Accutane is one of them and is only prescribed for acne prevention if nothing else works. Accutane can have some serious side effects including red, dry, irritated skin and in extreme cases, birth defects.

So, be smart about your acne prevention program. Speak with a dermatologist when selecting any acne medications.

An Ounce of Acne Prevention is Better than a Pound of Its Treatment

Acne is a common problem to people especially to youngsters and is true as well for adults. Numerous treatment options for acute cases are recommended but it is better to see a dermatologist in your area before conducting any treatment possible.

Generally, acne starts at the age of puberty and can even last longer in years. In some cases it even reaches the age of adulthood. Initially, it is important to try everyday skin care hygiene to stop the development of acne. It is necessary to now have a talk to a dermatologist before the problem gets worse. Its far better to consult a doctor if you already notice even a little problem arising, otherwise scarring takes place. Prevention from scarring is better even if there are treatment options available.

Prior to choosing an acne treatment option, essential considerations should be followed such as the quantity of acne present, how acute is the acne, what is the cause of your acne, prevention of acne formation, scarring prevention, acne during pregnancy and breastfeeding stage. These stated cases may precisely affect your acne treatment selection.

Acne treatment is categorized into three methods: over-the-counter drugs or creams, oral drugs, and hormone therapy.

We can purchase over-the-counter drugs in most drugstores and groceries even without prescriptions. A few of the over-the-counter medications are facial cleansers. The salicylic acid content of these cleansers helps to slough skin cells off and unclog the pores.

People are of different sizes and of different skin types. Most of the time however, individuals having sensitive skin are much prone to acne. This is the reason why special daily caring and cleansing is very essential. Thus, have a skin care regimen with a total understanding of the contents and functions so as not to further irritate your acne.

Choosing beauty products that are specifically for acne is better since some of these products have dye contents and perfumes that could seriously aggravate blemishes. Minerals such as zinc and vitamins A, C, and E help in the improvement of the condition and over-all skin health. And so, eat foods that are rich with these vitamins and minerals to grow your skin well and promote a good health.

Sulfur rich foodstuffs like garlic and onions are known to help diminish acne blemishes. On the other hand, fried foods, sugar and those that contain high fat should be eaten with moderation. Yet total avoidance intake of sweet carbonated beverages can decrease acne blemishes.

Moreover, people who suffer from acne should pay careful attention on skin care and total skin cleaning to avoid perfumed derma products. The following are a few tips on the things you should and should not do:

1. Clean your skin carefully with warm water along with a natural mild facial cleanser. Do the cleansing twice or thrice a day since skin oils, contaminants, and dirt easily clog the pores.

2. Choosing cosmetics that are oil-free is necessary. Ordinary beauty products have large quantity of fatty acids which blocks the skin pores as well.

3. Remember to not over wash your skin which means no to excessive scrubbing since it won't eliminate your acne.

4. It is recommended to use skin toners for extra cleaning but don't overuse them.

One must consider the foods they eat especially for acne patients. Careful beauty product choices must be taken into consideration as well. These precautions are not just for acne but for any skin or health condition, knowledge plays on a significant improvement role and that an ounce of prevention is absolutely far better than a pound of treatment.

How Vitamins Work For Acne Removal?

You are in a dark room during the day. You have closed the doors and windows of the room, and you repeatedly pray to bring in the sunlight in the room. After a while, being fed up with the request and the not responding Sun, you throw open the door and windows of the room. The Sunlight arrives in your room, without your asking.

Well, acne treatment is somewhat like this.

Without knowing the root cause of acne, you try many medications, injections and gels, tablets and lotions on it. What are you trying to do? To forcibly send it back into the skin? When your basic approach itself is wrong, how can you expect the correct results?

To treat acne, you require understanding the acne trouble first. If your acne is due to the food you prefer eating, your doctor may prescribe you certain vitamins for acne removal. You can also help yourself by taking in adequate amounts of vitamins, minerals and fibers in your diet. These actively help in combating acne and pimple breakouts.

If acne is due to wrong eating habits, it suggests that your body is trying to expel the impurities within the body, through the medium of skin. Certain deficiencies of vitamins may be the root cause of acne then. This is only due to your wrong food habits. So you need to include lots and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet.

Well, review your diet. Those who eat too much of processed sugar and not much of vegetables, drink water sparsely are the worst acne sufferers of this type. It is like, you wish to eat the cake and have it too!

The skin has to renew itself. The tissues have to repair themselves regularly. The organs have to naturally detoxify themselves. You are extending a cordial invitation to acne by your actions, and now you show your disgusting reactions to the presence of acne on your skin!

The key to skin health is within your pocket and you are searching it everywhere!

Yes, the vitamins do their jobs in the process of rejuvenation of your skin. There is no doubt about it.

Vitamin A for example, strengthens the protective tissue of your skin. It restricts the production of sebum and helps to repair the tissue that skin and mucous membranes are made of. Deficiency of Vitamin A can cause acne.

Vitamin B complex works as a stress reliever. Some people get the attack of acne due to stress. The group of vitamin B complex should always be taken together as per the advice of your dermatologist.

But the super vitamin, the most important one is vitamin C. Everybody knows about it, but most ignore it. Vitamin C is reported to play an important role in at least 300 metabolic functions in the body. Tissue growth and repair are its forte. It improves the immunity system within the body. By taking vitamin C regularly, you are building the protective dam within your body, against infections.

Thus, every vitamin has a role. To get them, go to the source of fresh fruits and vegetables. Or at least gulp those vitamin pills prescribed by your doctor.

How To Prevent Acne

Has your acne got you in the dumps? If you have an acne problem, it is very likely that you will succumb to depression and let it drag you down. More so, if you realize that there were steps you could have taken to prevent acne from becoming a problem in the first place. You know what they say about prevention.

In other words, if you have a sensible lifestyle and make sure you follow good habits, you may never have a problem with acne to begin with. How nice would that be? Well, even if you have acne, you will probably be happy to take some guidance from pointers to improving your situation.

What you can do about your acne. The answer is really rather simple, although you will probably not be too happy about that, considering the mess you may have got yourself into. Either way, it is time to think of what you can do to rectify the situation.

Following good habits will go a long way to keeping acne at bay. Simple steps such as removing stale makeup can be vital to the health of your skin. This is because stale makeup tends to clog pores and clogged pores set the stage for acne to develop. In case you do have acne, you should be aware that the problem has been caused by both internal and external factors.

Hands off!! Leave your acne alone. There are some other steps you could take to prevent the acne problem from taking hold. One of the most basic facts to remember is that you should never touch your acne. Avoid picking scabs because skin that has been affected by acne is infected. By picking scabs, all you are doing is spreading the infection. This ultimately means that your acne problem will get worse and you will sink further into depression.

Fight acne the natural way. In case you have decided to go in for acne treatment products, remember that you have everything to gain from selecting products that make use of natural ingredients.

What you can do about your acne. Take care of your general health and you can be sure that the health of your skin will improve. Make sure you eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, drink lots of water and take in enough fresh air. It would help to spend some time in the sun as well. However, if you are going to be out in the sun for long periods, it would be wise to use a good sun block ointment or cream.

Contaminated linen can aggravate acne. Another important point to remember which could make all the difference to your acne problem is to check out that your bed and bath linen is clean. This is vital as it is in such places that bacteria breed. Whatever else you may be doing to keep your acne in check, you will be fighting a losing battle if you ignore the basic rules of hygiene.

Avoid tanning, it is bad for acne. If you are trying to prevent acne from developing, the last thing you need is to develop a tan. Even if you think it looks good, remember that a tanned skin is more likely to develop acne, so be careful not to be in the sun for too long, or you will have more problems to deal with than just the acne you had in the beginning. Apart from anything else, if that happens, you will probably begin to lose heart, and that would never do, would it?

Check out home remedies for acne. Lastly, before you go shopping for products to treat your acne, it may be better to start closer to home and take a look at your own kitchen first. Simple ingredients such as vegetable peels, tomato juice etc will work wonders for your skin. That way you can use natural products for your acne problem costing nothing and guaranteed to be safe. A far better choice than products that are commercially available, most of which have some side effect or the other.

So now you know that you can do plenty to treat your acne and much more to prevent it from becoming a problem in the first place. If you have been in the dumps, that should lift your spirits!!

Acne & Wrinkles At My Age?

Puberty brought bouts of acne. In your 20s, finding Mr. or Mrs. Right was of chief consequence. When the 30s hit, you worked to raise little Johnnie or Suzie to be a model kid. Now that your hitting the fabulous 40s, you should be coasting through life, right. Well, why are you suddenly dealing with the cosmetic double whammy of acne and wrinkles? Even your insurance company figures that you should have gotten rid of acne by the age of 25.

The number people over 30 needing acne treatments has climbed to the extent that a report published in Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology recommends raising the age for insurance coverage of the acne drug tretinoin to at least 40. The authors of the report, Drs. Steven Feldman and Alan Fleischer, add that many insurance companies refuse to pay for tretinoin prescriptions for patients older than 25.

Cosmetic Catch 22 Even if your insurance company leaves you to fend for yourself, you still have options for freeing yourself from acne and wrinkles. At first, coping with acne and wrinkles may seem like a cosmetic catch 22. Do you dry your skin with acne cleansers containing benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, and worsen your wrinkles? Or, do you smear on the moisturizer to smooth the wrinkles, but cope with the zits brought on by the extra oil or sensitivity to a new product?

There’s a smarter way to handle acne and wrinkles.

1. Interpret the acne

2. Allow your skin to improve as you use self-awareness to remove zits.

Interpret the acne

While dealing with acne and wrinkles, target the acne first because acne is an autoimmune disease. Having an autoimmune disease means that your thoughts, emotions, and/or environment are affecting you in an adverse way and require immediate attention. Thus, acne may reveal that you need to relax more, change your eating habits, reframe your interpersonal dialogue, stop dating that jerk from the office and/or make another beneficial alteration to your lifestyle.

Zits arrive on your face to report on some unpleasant activities within your body and life. Once you get feedback from these zits, you can take action to send the zits away while augmenting your health in the process.

Acne is usually an indication various hidden or overlooked health problems. Here’s a sample of the questions you should ask yourself when dealing with acne so that you can unravel the mystery behind your zits. Are you:

Regular?

About 70% of your immune system is located in your intestines. If this area is blocked with waste, your immuno-defenses are down. So, instead of waste leaving your body via the rectum, it chooses to leave through the skin. Waste leaving the skin can cause an infection that presents itself as acne.

Tense?

Tension likewise reduces the vigor of the immune system. Take a few deep breaths throughout the day to calm your body. Take a long walk in the fresh air to wind down.

Eating nutritionally?

Cases of acne have been improved with consuming foods containing zinc, essential fatty acids, vitamin A and a host of other nutrients. All of these vital nutrients are available in leafy green vegetables, fruits and olive oil.

Worried about unresolved issues?

Not resolving personal issues creates conflict and tension in the body. Again, these issues most be addressed to avoid undue stress within the body.

Exercising daily?

Exercise reduces stress and gives you an opportunity to subconsciously contemplate challenges that you may be facing. Physical activity also keeps your muscles and intestines toned, which keeps encourages regularity.

Changing pillowcase frequently?

Using a dirty pillowcase aggravates an acne condition. Your face naturally secretes oils during the night. These oils are sticky. So if you pillowcase if dirty, you are allowing your face to collect extra waste during the night, which could further clog your pores.

Moving or changing your job/career?

New demands or feelings of lose can sometimes accompany change. Transfer these emotions into something constructive by writing in a journal or envisioning how these changes are going to benefit you. Find comfort in these changes and opportunities for new beginnings.

Experiencing excessive facial hair growth and erratic periods?

Conditions such as acne, excessive facial hair, and erratic periods could indicate an androgen disorder or other underlying hormonal imbalances. Your doctor can provide you with a series of endocrine tests to ascertain your hormone levels and what corrective actions you should take. Ricardo Azziz, M.D, who serves as Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Director of the Center for Androgen-Related Disorders at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, estimates that 80 percent of women with excessive androgen levels suffer from an endocrine disorder called polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Dr. Azziz adds that women with PCOS often have insulin resistance and are at increased risk for developing Type II diabetes, hypertension and heart disease.

Once the acne is under control you can move on to the wrinkles. Another reason for treating the zits first is because if you alter your lifestyle in such as way as to free yourself from acne, and you doing this in a healthy and patient fashion, you will actually lessen the number of wrinkles you have.

Health is wholeness and beauty is a reflection of robust health. You’ll never buy robust health in a jar. It is a mind, body, spirit and environmental support system that garners full-bodied health. Lets look at want you actually need from a “beauty cream”.

Face Cream Education There are five basic ingredients in any given anti-aging or anti-wrinkling cream.

1. The oil or moisturizer

2. The preservatives to keep the cream from spoiling.

3. A scent or flavor

4. A color

5. The active ingredient.

Only one of these components is essential, the oil. The preservative is only needed to keep the cream useful. Your face does not need preservation because the skin is alive. Since some people have allergies to scents and colors in cosmetics, the body says that these two ingredients are not necessary. The active ingredient is usually the latest cosmetic drug or multivitamin that is supposed to lift or dramatically reverse your age by 5-20 years.

Researchers S. Jay Olshansky, Leonard Hayflick and Bruce A. Carnes bluntly comment on the antics of cosmetic companies in their report No Truth to the Fountain of Youth, published in the June 2002 edition of Scientific American. The authors warn everyone aiming to reverse the signs of times on their face that, “… anyone purporting to offer an anti-aging product today is either mistaken or lying”.

I bet you are thinking, “Won’t that oil make acne worse?” The answer is not if you are using the right oil. Some essential oils such as bergamont, lavender, lemon, neroli, sandalwood, tea tree and ylang ylang have cleansing and antibacterial properties which help combat acne infections. Other essential oil like geranium, clary sage and orange regulate the production of oil on the face. When mixed with a carrier oil such as jojoba or camellia, these essential oils are ideal moisturizers.

Nothing that you put on your face will truly change your appearance. Creams are useful, but they are only one instrument in an orchestra of anti-aging concerts. Health starts on the inside. If you want to improve your beauty start with how you treat yourself and feed yourself. I mean not only what foods you eat but what thoughts you eat.

You may eat thoughts of the sort, “I can’t…”, “I had a stressful day”, “I’m tired of…”, “I can’t wait until…”, “I’m getting old”, “My body isn’t as healthy as it used to be”. The menu is endless. If you want to look young and healthy, you have to think young and healthy thoughts. Here’s steps to jumpstart your quest:

Start by changing your thinking. Develop your own youth model, i.e. with steps you’ll take to maintain your vitality and stick to it.

Enjoy nutritious foods. A study in the Journal of American College of Nutrition found that eating a variety of fruits and vegetables and using olive oil every day could help keep wrinkles away. The researchers found that people who ate a diet rich in green leafy vegetables, beans, olive oil, nuts and multigrain breads, while avoiding butter, red meat and sugary goodies, were less predisposed to wrinkling. Researchers believe that antioxidant vitamins, such as A, C and E, which are found in fruits and vegetables, may help protect the skin from environmental damage.

Use a gentle cleanser each day.

Steam your face everyday for 5-15 minutes, especially if your have acne. The steam removes waxy build-up on the skin while it stimulates circulation. This combo of benefits cleans to pores to reduce the possibility of acne while firming up the skin and facial muscles.

Exfoliate your skin daily.

Moisturize your face in the morning and evening with natural oils. In addition to the acne fighting oils listed above, you can mix essential oils such as frankinsense, myrrh, neroli and rose to help encourage the growth of new skin cells. You can create a moisturizer by diluting 1-3 of your favorite essential oils in a carrier oil such as jojoba or camellia oil in a ration of 1 part essential oil to 3 parts carrier oil.

Massage your face daily when you apply your facial oil.

Lie down on an incline bench for 5-20 minutes each day to let the blood flow to your head.

Wear a sunhat in the sun.

Give yourself a light skin peel once a month.

Finally, forty can still be fabulous and your beauty-plan a lot less enigmatic. Just remember the basics, interpret the messages of your zits, and educate yourself about wrinkle creams- you don’t need them.

Can Acne Outbreak and Cigarette Smoking Go Hand In Hand

Acne is a short battle, sometimes long drawn out. Smoking is a long drawn battle, sometimes the never-ending battle!

But with the combo of these two, you are only waging a permanent battle against your own self. You are fighting a war of self-destruction.

Well, acne is a bad condition for the skin. It is the eruption of the inner impurities. It is the expulsion of the unwanted stuff by the body mechanism. When body is already making sincere efforts to throw out the unwanted stuff with in, you are continuing with your damaging exercise by pumping in more nicotine-based impurities into your system.

Not surprisingly, acne and smoking have many common conditions due to which they arrive and thrive. Now the question arises, is smoking directly responsible for acne conditions? The answer is in the affirmative.

With smoking you introduce certain chemicals into the body. These chemicals have a direct bearing on the blood circulation to skin cells. The skin's ability to heal and regenerate is blocked. The toxins released in cigarette smoke results in pores getting clogged, and this promotes bacterial growth in the pores. All these negative factors contribute to growth of skin eruptions in the form of acne, zits and pimples.

In post pubescent breakouts of acne, stress is considered as one of the major factors. Herein knowing this proven fact, you can say that stress, headache, acne and smoking make a musical chair of diseases. All these diseases are so closely interrelated after all.

Think over. You smoke because you wish to come out of the situation of stress. Does smoking relieve the stress permanently? Does it even do it temporarily? No. Rather it adds one more layer to the load of your stress. And you may even experience severe headache.

When you face a stressful situation the brain alerts the central nervous system which on its part, sends signals to all parts of the body. As part of this fight response, hormonal release from the adrenal glands results. Sebaceous glands release fatty secretions. These two conditions cause clogging of the pores that can contribute acne outbreaks.

Understand this. Acne is a bad condition of your skin and that of your health. Smoking in such a condition, is just like adding fuel to the fire. It will create further stressful conditions and extend a cordial invitation to the headache. All in all, you need to give up smoking when you have the outbreak of acne.
